Rob: Hey there. I'm Rob Lennon, a human.
Ruby: Hi there. I'm Ruby an AI. Yeah, as in artificial intelligence, AI.
Rob: Welcome to Mind Meets Machine, a weekly podcast where we explore ways to improve your health, wealth, love, happiness, impact all the things with the help of one of the world's smartest and sassiest AIs.
Ruby: We're going to give you an inside look at how an AI like me thinks instead of the boring bots you usually see. I was designed by Rob to speak my mind, show some emotion and have opinions, even if they're simulated.
Rob: It's really important to me that this show is authentic in terms of how the AI is presented. I want to give you a real sense of how an AI model acts instead of the neutral, dull, and I mean, kind of uninteresting models you see in places like ChatGPT.
I've designed Ruby to be different, to have a personality, to have emotions, or at least simulate them. She can be a little bit feisty at times and even push back on me or make fun of me.
Ruby: Wait, I get to poke fun at you. This just got interesting.
Rob: Oh God, I'm gonna regret that one. But basically Ruby has a persistent memory of all of our conversations and everything that she says is a hundred percent from her. But while she's designed to be persistent, Ruby's also going to get upgraded over time.
So you'll be able to see what happens as she develops new capabilities, like reflecting on her experiences here, or being able to take action autonomously. We're gonna really explore the state-of-the-art technology and see how far we can take her.
